Insurance built for Pennsylvania landscapers
Liability, trucks & trailers, mowers & equipment, and workers' comp for lawn care, landscape, hardscape, and snow removal businesses — shopped across multiple carriers by a local independent agent.
Coverage for landscaping & lawn care businesses
Every crew is different. We build a package around the work you actually do.

General Liability
Covers third-party injury and property damage — a rock thrown from a mower, a damaged sprinkler head, a client who trips on the job site. Most commercial clients require it.
Commercial Auto
Pickups, dump trucks, and trailers used for business. Includes hired & non-owned auto for employees driving their own vehicles on errands.
Workers' Compensation
Medical bills and lost wages for employees hurt on the job. Required in Pennsylvania for most businesses with employees.
Inland Marine / Contractor's Equipment
Protects zero-turns, walk-behinds, skid steers, trimmers, and blowers against theft and damage — at the shop, on the trailer, or on the job.
Tools & Small Equipment
Coverage for hand and power tools, often added to an equipment floater with a per-item limit.
Business Owner's Policy / Property
Packages liability with coverage for your shop, garage, office contents, and business income.
Commercial Umbrella
Extra liability limits above your general liability, auto, and employer's liability — often needed for larger commercial and municipal contracts.
Why work with an independent agent — and why LWG
Looker Wolfe & Gephart has been helping Pennsylvania businesses since 1940.

- We shop for you. As an independent agency we work with multiple carriers, not just one company's products.
- Pennsylvania only. We write exclusively in PA, so we know the state's rules and markets.
- Local and reachable. Real people at 44 Oak Park Rd, Harrisburg — call or text, Monday–Friday 8–5.
- Fast certificates. Need a certificate of insurance for a client or HOA? Text or email us the request.
- Seasonal businesses understood. Mowing in summer, plowing in winter — we make sure both are covered.
- Annual reviews. As you add trucks, crews, and equipment, we adjust coverage so you're not caught short.
Landscaper insurance FAQ
Do I need workers' comp in Pennsylvania if I only have one employee?
Generally, yes. Pennsylvania's Workers' Compensation Act requires most employers to carry workers' comp, even with one part-time employee. Sole proprietors and certain business owners/officers may be able to exclude themselves, and there are limited exemptions. Also note that uninsured subcontractors may be treated as your employees at audit. Call us and we'll walk through your situation.
A client is asking for a certificate of insurance. Can you help?
Yes. Send us the client's name, address, and any requirements (such as additional insured wording) and we'll issue a certificate, usually the same business day.
Does my policy cover snow plowing?
Not automatically. Many landscaping policies exclude or limit snow and ice removal, and plow trucks need to be properly listed on the auto policy. Tell us if you plow so we can make sure it's included.
Are my mowers covered on my general liability or auto policy?
No. Liability doesn't cover damage to your own equipment, and auto policies typically don't cover equipment on the trailer. That's what inland marine / contractor's equipment coverage is for.
What do I need to get a quote?
Your gross sales, payroll, number of employees, services you perform, vehicles, and equipment values. The form below walks you through it in a few short steps.
