Insurance built for Pennsylvania restaurants
Liability, liquor liability, property, food spoilage, and workers' comp for restaurants, bars, cafés, pizza shops, and caterers — shopped across multiple carriers by a local independent agent.
Coverage for restaurants, bars & cafés
Every kitchen is different. We build a package around how you cook, serve, and deliver.

General Liability
Guest slip-and-falls, burns, and property damage claims — plus foodborne-illness and products claims from the food you serve.
Liquor Liability
Pennsylvania's dram shop law can hold a licensee liable for serving a visibly intoxicated patron. Most GL policies exclude this for businesses that sell alcohol.
Business Owner's Policy / Property
Your building or tenant improvements, kitchen equipment, furniture, and POS — plus business income if a fire shuts you down.
Food Spoilage & Equipment Breakdown
Covers spoiled stock and repairs when a walk-in cooler, freezer, or compressor fails.
Workers' Compensation
Kitchen burns, cuts, and slips are common. Required in Pennsylvania for most businesses with employees.
Hired & Non-Owned Auto
Protects the business when employees deliver food or run errands in their own cars.
Employment Practices & Umbrella
Protection against harassment and wrongful-termination claims, plus extra liability limits above your GL, liquor, and auto.
Why work with an independent agent — and why LWG
Looker Wolfe & Gephart has been helping Pennsylvania businesses since 1940.

- We shop for you. As an independent agency we work with multiple carriers, not just one company's products.
- Pennsylvania only. We write exclusively in PA, so we know the Liquor Code, PLCB licensing, and the state's restaurant markets.
- Local and reachable. Real people at 44 Oak Park Rd, Harrisburg — call or text, Monday–Friday 8–5.
- Fast certificates. Landlord, caterer client, or event venue asking for a certificate? Text or email us the request.
- Liquor liability done right. We match your license type and alcohol sales to carriers that actually want restaurants and bars.
- Annual reviews. As you add seats, delivery, catering, or a second location, we adjust coverage so you're not caught short.
Restaurant insurance FAQ
Do I need liquor liability if I only serve beer and wine?
Usually, yes. Under Pennsylvania's dram shop law, a licensee can be liable for injuries caused off-premises by a customer who was served while visibly intoxicated. Standard general liability policies typically exclude this for businesses that sell alcohol, so liquor liability is written separately or added by endorsement.
Does RAMP certification help with insurance?
RAMP is the PLCB's voluntary Responsible Alcohol Management Program (owner/manager training, server training, new-employee orientation, and signage). Many carriers ask about it, and trained staff are a plus when underwriters review a bar or restaurant.
Are delivery drivers covered?
If employees deliver in their own cars, their personal auto policy may exclude it and your business can be sued. Hired & non-owned auto coverage protects the business; if you own delivery vehicles, they need a commercial auto policy. Third-party apps like DoorDash carry their own coverage for their drivers.
My landlord requires me to name them as additional insured. Can you help?
Yes. Send us the lease insurance section and we'll make sure your policy and certificate match it.
What do I need to get a quote?
Your annual sales (food and alcohol), seating, hours, kitchen and fire-suppression details, payroll, and employee counts. The form below walks you through it in a few short steps.
