Insurance built for Pennsylvania retail shops
Property, inventory, liability, crime, and workers' comp for boutiques, gift shops, specialty stores, and main-street retailers — shopped across multiple carriers by a local independent agent.
Coverage for retail stores & boutiques
Every shop is different. We build a package around what you sell and where you sell it.

Business Owner's Policy
Packages property and liability in one policy — usually the most cost-effective option for small retailers.
General & Product Liability
Customer slip-and-falls and claims from products you sell. Landlords and shopping centers almost always require it.
Property & Inventory
Your stock, fixtures, displays, POS, and improvements to a leased space — with seasonal limits for holiday inventory peaks.
Business Income
Replaces lost income and pays ongoing expenses if a fire, burst pipe, or storm forces you to close.
Crime & Employee Theft
Covers money, securities, and inventory stolen by employees, plus robbery and burglary of cash.
Cyber / Data Breach
Help with notification, credit monitoring, and recovery if card data or customer records are exposed.
Workers' Compensation
Medical bills and lost wages for employees hurt on the job. Required in Pennsylvania for most businesses with employees.
Why work with an independent agent — and why LWG
Looker Wolfe & Gephart has been helping Pennsylvania businesses since 1940.

- We shop for you. As an independent agency we work with multiple carriers, not just one company's products.
- Pennsylvania only. We write exclusively in PA, so we know the state's rules and markets.
- Local and reachable. Real people at 44 Oak Park Rd, Harrisburg — call or text, Monday–Friday 8–5.
- Fast certificates. Landlord or mall management needs a certificate? Text or email us the request.
- Seasonal inventory understood. Holiday stock-up or summer rush — we make sure your limits keep up.
- Annual reviews. As you add a location, staff, or online sales, we adjust coverage so you're not caught short.
Retail store insurance FAQ
Do I need workers' comp in Pennsylvania if I only have one employee?
Generally, yes. Pennsylvania's Workers' Compensation Act requires most employers to carry workers' comp, even with one part-time employee. Sole proprietors and certain business owners/officers may be able to exclude themselves. Call us and we'll walk through your situation.
My lease requires insurance. What do I need?
Most leases require general liability with the landlord as additional insured, and many require you to insure your improvements and contents. Send us the insurance section of your lease and we'll match it.
Is my inventory covered if I sell at a craft show or pop-up?
Not always. Many policies limit property away from your premises or in transit. Tell us where you sell and we'll add the right off-premises coverage.
Does a BOP cover employee theft or cyber?
Usually only in small amounts, if at all. Crime and cyber coverage can be added or written separately.
What do I need to get a quote?
What you sell, annual sales, square footage, whether you own or lease, inventory and fixture values, payroll, and employee counts. The form below walks you through it in a few short steps.
